Friend

I can’t live happily in the kind of world where we don’t look out for each other. Not just the people who are close to us, but anyone who genuinely needs a helping hand. I can’t change the way people think, or what they choose to do, but I feel I must do my bit.

A friend sees you with tears in your eyes, and knows whether you need them to hold you or just leave you be. I don’t know how they know, but they do and they make life so much better. My dear friend, we’re all different. Don’t judge, understand instead. Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them the world is a much poorer place. And if your compassion doesn’t include yourself, it’s incomplete.

So why not embrace your humanity today and connect with those around you. Try saying, “I love you”, “I’m sorry”, “I’m proud of you”. Express whatever it is you’re feeling, send random texts, write beautiful, uplifting notes, embrace your truth and share it. Create a smile today for someone and give plenty of hugs.
